Camp Olympics and Hawaiian Luau

On Tuesday evening all campers participated in the camp olympics. There were 7 teams of campers, and each team ran from station to station participating in challenging Olympic-type sports and contests headed up by a pair of counselors. Some of the stations included obstacle courses, egg tosses, Bible trivia, puzzle assembly, and “make John and Art laugh” in which the team was rewarded for making both John Beecham and Josh Clemens laugh at the same time. Sadly, not a single team emerged victoriously from this station. But the teams had much more luck at the 6 other stations. After the games the camp enjoyed a festive Hawaiian Luau at the pool which was put together by Bob Abel, Sarah Abel, and David Becker. Ice cream, cake (for Ophelia’s birthday), and a plethora of toppings overflowed campers’ bowls. There was also a limbo contest, Hawaiian music, and a whole lot of fun in the pool under the stars of night. OK, there are no stars in these pictures because the Sun was still setting, but trust me, someone saw at least one star at some point that night. A BIG thanks to Bob Abel and David Becker for making the trek to camp and setting up the pool to resemble an authentic Hawaiian luau! Everyone was very pleased and had an amazing time.
