Emmaus Retreat 2018
Saint John’s Camp Programs invites you to join us for our annual Emmaus Retreat! The Emmaus Retreat, which will take place on Saturday, October 20th, 2018, is a day-long retreat open to all ages where families and individuals are encouraged to come together and connect with those of other parishes throughout the Midwest. The event provides a wonderful opportunity to meet or reconnect with our brothers and sisters in Christ as we learn, pray, and grow in the Faith.
We have the privilege this year to host Dr. Philip Mamalakis as he speaks on “The Church of the Home”. Dr. Mamalakis is the author of the recently published and widely popular book, “Parenting Toward the Kingdom”. He received his Master of Divinity at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology and his Ph.D. from Purdue University in child development and family studies, specializing in marriage and family therapy. Currently, Dr. Mamalakis is the Assistant Professor of Pastoral Care at Holy Cross in Massachusetts, where he also runs a private practice working with individuals, couples, and families. He leads many retreats on parenting, marriage, family life, and much more, and we are honored to welcome him to lead our retreat.
Dr. Mamalakis will be offering three separate, hour-long speaking sessions, while the rest of the day will be made available for free time and a provided lunch, and will conclude with Great Vespers served on the campgrounds. For those with young children, free child care will be offered during the speaking sessions. Don’t miss it for the world!
Please register ASAP and spread the word! Invite other friends and family!
