The Rivervaledance
As promised, here is video of the Rivervaledance. There is a lot more footage than what can be uploaded to the blog which will be on the official camp video to be distributed after camp is over. For now, enjoy this clip:
Oh The Holy Ghost Will Set Your Feet A-Dancin’
Wednesday night was dancing night. In years past it has been purely square dancing. This year we thought it would be neat to switch it up a bit and change the theme to Irish river dancing. You could call it Rivervaledance night. Here is a very nice photo set of the dances:
Ritual Mohawks
This is a video from camp day 1 of staff shaving their heads into mohawks in preparation for the campers to arrive the next day.
Nursing Home Visit 2009
On Thursday morning we went as a group to Mitchell Manor, the local nursing home about 10 minutes from camp grounds, to sing some songs and play some bingo with the residents. The residents could not have been happier. We were very impressed with the way the campers integrated with everyone and so was the staff at the Nursing Home. We were there for about 2 hours. Here is a photoset from the visit, and hopefully we’ll be able to post video from the singing.
First Video Ever Posted Live From Camp!
And it’s a doozy! Josh Clemens flips a stack of cones into another stack of cones held by Caleb after the Camp Olympics. He gets it on the second try!

We mentioned the Camp Olympic games a few blog posts ago but we didn’t have any photos. Well we came across some, so here you go. Also, keep an eye out for a post with video footage from camp – actually posted while camp is still going on, which is a first.
Teachings & Singing
Luke gave a teaching entitled “Growing Up” for the second teaching block on Wednesday. Audio from the teaching was recorded (along with audio from all of the teachings) and will be included in the camp packets distributed at the end of the week. There was also some amazing singing and praising on Wednesday, probably some of the best singing we’ve ever heard at camp. Pictures from both events are included in the following photo set.

Sports, Sports, Sports!
What would camp be without some healthy competition? During afternoon free time many of the campers and staff engage in sports such as basketball, volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, kickball, and football. Wednesday particularly saw some great games of basketball and volleyball. Check out some photos from the games and read the caption below each photo for a description.
